Inauguration of a project to extend a water network to the displaced villages in Yemen

Under the sponsorship of the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, Brigadier General Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, and the Governor of Taiz Governorate, Mr. Nabil Shamsan, the local authority in Almakha city launched a new water project  in Almakha Directorate of Taiz governorate. The project was funded and supervised by the Kuwaiti Development Association and implemented by Altwsul for Human Development Foundation.

The project targets 1,500 HHs living in Kuwait Alkhair village and the neighboring villages, it will provide them with clean drinking water.

The project includes a submersible pump, a main extension network from the well to the tank stretching 1,650 meters, a secondary network from the well to the houses, an elevated tank  with a height of 12 meters and a capacity of 25,000 cubic liters, and distribution points stretching 650 meters .

Sheikh Abdullah Alsaraji, Chairman of the Planning Committee at the local council, commend the efforts of the Kuwait State in supporting developmental projects in Yemen. He emphasize that the project will contribute to improving the living standards of the residents and providing them with clean water.

Mr. Raed Ebrahim, the CEO of Altwasul Foundation, emphasize that the project is part of the "Kuwait by Your Side" campaign, which aims to support the Yemeni people. The project's objective is to provide water to every household in Kuwait Alkhair village, as well as distribution points that will benefit the residents of the neighboring villages.

The villagers expressed happiness with the establishment of the project, pointing out that will help solve the long-standing issue of water scarcity faced by the residents of the beneficiary villages and improve their living standards.
